Throw Clay LA teaches two different pottery methods, throwing and handbuilding. Throwing (Potter's Wheel) uses the wheel to create cylinders that can be formed into bowls, platters, mugs, and planters. Handbuilding is more freeform and covers slab, coil and pinch building techniques. Our fun and friendly introductory courses also cover trimming pottery, preparing for the kiln and basic glaze techniques.
Continuing and Spotlight courses are designed to improve your pottery skills as you develop your artistic style. Designed for our members and potters with experience, Spotlight courses center around a unique but essential set of techniques, methods, and skills. The individual topics may not repeat every session. All courses come with Student Practice time six days a week - time for you to experiment in the studio with what you are learning in your course.
All courses are 6-weeks and cost $295 which includes your clay, glazes and use of studio equipment and tools.
Next session begins February 12
