Do you love Giselle Hicks' amazing, coiled forms? Have you been watching every video post from Sunshine Cobb wishing you could make her cool planters? This class is dedicated to coil building, which is used by these ceramics artists to create a wide range of unique forms. We will focus on the making of coils, the building of both open and closed forms, and the surface treatments that coil building offers. This class is ideal for people brand new to clay and those who want to learn to handbuild following several courses throwing on the wheel. Included: -Two hours of open studio time to practice throwing on your own each week. -25 pounds of clay (including firing and glazing). -All tools and glazes (Bring an apron and towel if you like).
Because our classes are often full, we ask that you cancel/reschedule 5 days in advance of your first Weekly Course for a refund so we can re-book the wheel. For Weekly Courses, we are generally able to accommodate one missed class, depending on an available wheel. All refunds are issued after deducting non-refundable processing fees to cover costs incurred. Our one-time classes have a 3-day cancellation or reschedule policy. Member clinics have a 24 hour cancellation requirement.
