Course Description

This is a perfect class for making fun and functional pottery pieces. During this 2 hour class running for 6 weeks, we explore how to shape forms without using a potter's wheel. Handbuilders have an extensive range of methods and this class focuses on a few of the basics. We will cover pinching, soft and leather hard slabs, and coils by doing simple technique-focused functional projects each week. Students will learn to prepare finished works for the kiln, and glaze processes in the studio as well. Included with Introduction to Creative Pottery: -Two hours of open studio time to practice throwing on your own each week. -25 pounds of clay (including firing and glazing). -All tools and glazes (Bring an apron and towel if you like).

Cancellation Policy

Because our classes are often full, we ask that you cancel/reschedule 5 days in advance of your first Weekly Course for a refund so we can re-book the wheel. For Weekly Courses, we are generally able to accommodate one missed class, depending on an available wheel. All refunds are issued after deducting non-refundable processing fees to cover costs incurred. Our one-time classes have a 3-day cancellation or reschedule policy. Member clinics have a 24 hour cancellation requirement.
