Course Description

As you focus on the basic techniques of slab, pinch and slump molding, each student creates their unique set of items - for example mugs, sushi plates, or succulent planters. Working with white stoneware, we will also explore a range of texturing tools to create one of a kind surface designs. Whether you are brand new to clay or looking to learn handbuilding after mastering the wheel, this course is ideal for giving you the tools to develop your artistic style. Each weekly class is two hours long - which breaks out to an affordable cost of $49/week. Class size limited to 8. Included with this course: - Open studio time to practice throwing on your own each week. Please see the Student Practice page on the website for current practice hours. - 25 pounds of clay (including firing and glazing). - Basic tools for your use during class. (Bring a towel and apron if you like.) (There are no make up classes for this course. If you need to miss a class, speak with your instructor about what you will miss. Try to get extra studio practice that week, and follow any guidelines for learning what you will miss that your instructor may have for you.)
