Course Description
Sculpting with Coils is a six-week introductory course focused on handbuilding with traditional coil techniques. Students learn how to make and use coils to build both open and closed forms while exploring surface through compression, blending, or exposed structure. The course emphasizes thoughtful construction and form development, allowing students to create larger and more expressive pieces at a measured pace. Suitable for beginners as well as experienced potters, the class supports individual exploration within a guided, structured setting. Classes meet weekly for two hours and include open studio time for practice. Enrollment is limited to eight students to ensure individualized instruction. Join us and experience the joy of creating beautiful, handbuilt ceramic pieces! Included: - Open studio time to practice throwing on your own each week. Please see the Student Practice page on the website for current practice hours. - 25 pounds of clay (including firing and glazing). - Basic tools for your use during class. (Bring a towel and apron if you like.) (There are no make up classes for this course. If you need to miss a class, speak with your instructor about what you will miss. Try to get extra studio practice that week, and follow any guidelines for learning what you will miss that your instructor may have for you.)

To reschedule or be refunded (less transaction fees) requires: - at least 3 days notice before a One-Time Class - at least 5 days notice before the first day of a 6-week course No refunds issued with less than the required notice above, but if your spots are rebooked we will gladly reschedule you.
